REAL BRIDE: Bonita
Bonita + Gage
6.5.21
Bonita and Gage’s summer wedding was simply stunning and worth all of their hard work planning. Their images by Sarah Dean Photography, perfectly showcase the emotions of the day - sweet, overjoyed and so, so happy.
Bonita rocked an elegant crepe gown by Blue by Enzoani and made the decision to pair it perfectly with a shimmering sash that Bonita took on and off throughout the day. Yes, please! We LOVE when brides want to lean into creating two day-of looks and Bonita goes to show it’s so worth it.
Every detail of this perfect day stopped us in our tracks and we are so excited to share every detail with you! Scroll down for advice from our bride, beautiful images and the vendor lineup!
How did you decide to get married on June 5th?
“June 5th, 2021 was our four year anniversary. We began dating on June 5th, 2017!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We met at Washburn University in Greek Life. Our Greek chapters were paired together for homecoming. The next semester Gage and I had a class together where we sat together during every class. At the end of the semester we went on our first date and we started officially dating a few weeks later!”
Tell us about the proposal!
“Gage and I had decided to go ice skating before dinner with Gage's family - it was his parents' 25th wedding anniversary. I did not want to go because of a headache but we went anyway. After a few laps his family showed up and he got down on one knee. I was speechless and had absolutely no clue that he was going to propose that night.”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“From the beginning we had always wanted an elegant wedding with dusty blue and lots of eucalyptus.”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“I think my favorite moment of the whole day was after our family photos at the church. We had extra time before the ceremony so Gage and I were able to sit together and talk. It was so nice to be able to sit together and reflect before we became husband and wife.”
What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?
“Do your research before going dress shopping. I was so glad I was able to see what dresses Something White had before I went dress shopping. I made sure the dresses in Something White fit my style before going in.”
How did you know your gown was the one?
“Before I went into Something White I knew which dress was going to be the one. I tried on five other gowns first to keep an open mind but as soon as I tried on the last dress I was saving I knew it was the one. It was everything I had envisioned - simple and elegant with a little bling with the belt I added on.”
Where did you draw your inspiration + ideas from?
“Lots of research on Pinterest and TikTok!”
Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. McCutcheon!
Wishing you all the best in your newest adventure!
