REAL BRIDE: Sydney
Blaise + Sydney Fountain
7.20.19
Sydney + Blaise got married in Newton, Kansas at The Barn at Grace Hill + we are seriously obsessed. Their wedding day was rustic + modern all at the same time + gives us all those classic Kansas wedding feels! We loooooveee the pops of color in Sydney’s florals + how much style these two put into every detail of their day.
We start today’s blog post off by showing off Sydney’s bridal shoot! She collaborated with Becca Louise Photography to do a bridal photoshoot at Blaise’s family farm + gifted the album to Blaise on their wedding day. SO sweet + such a fun way to get to wear your dress twice!
You know the drill - Keep scrolling + join us in congratulating Mr. + Mrs. Fountain in their newest adventure of marriage!
How did you know your gown was the one?
“I knew my gown was the one because it had a little bit of everything I realized I was looking for: form-fitting, fit-in-flare, a little bit of sparkle, a beautiful + unique back, lace, a long train + straps. As soon as I looked in the mirror at Something White Bridal I just knew. I could actually picture myself walking down the aisle to meet my husband in that dress + I knew he would love it too.”
From here we dive into the day Blaise + Sydney promised to be best friends forever - their wedding day! We have already told you all about our favorite parts of their day in the intro to this post, but we think it is important to shout out their amazing photographer, Bele Benard Photo Co.
Bele is SO sweet + we are so excited to showcase her work below!
What advice would you give to other brides in regard to dress shopping?
“I would suggest having an idea of what kind of dress you want before shopping, but being open to dresses you never thought you would like. You never know what type of dress will make you feel beautiful + be the one. The whole dress shopping experience is amazing + goes by way too fast! Live in the moment + enjoy trying on the many, many dresses.”
What made you decide to get married on July 20th?
“My husband's family all farms in Kansas + South Dakota so we planned our wedding date around their harvest seasons. Harvest is typically in June in Kansas + around August in South Dakota. We just picked a random date in July [ July 20 ] + it happened to be four days after my husband's parents anniversary + four days before my parents anniversary... which means we can all celebrate together in coming years!”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“I LOVED our whole wedding day. Everything was so perfect so it is hard to pick my favorite moment. I think I can narrow it down to three - First, our ceremony. It was a really special 20 minutes + I felt like it was just my husband + I + I had never felt closer to him before. Second, I loved our ‘getaway car’ exit from our ceremony. We drove off in my grandpas vintage car. It gave us about 10 minutes together alone after we were officially husband + wife. We couldn't stop smiling + talking about how we were actually husband + wife. Third, I loved my first look with my mom, dad + brother. They all wrote me letters + we took a minute to pray together before the all the craziness began.”
How did the two of you meet?
“Blaise + I have known each other for years. We went to grade school, middle school + high school together. We were always friends + ‘dated’ for a week in 7th grade. We didn't see each other much until after we both had graduated college. Our families became very good friends + we both happened to be hanging out with our families together + the rest is history.”
How did the proposal happen?
“Blaise proposed to me at the place he first fell in love with me - my parents backyard. We were having a wine night with our families at my parent's house + he proposed in the exact spot he remembered falling in love [ funny thing was it was the very first night we hung out. ] Anyways, he surprised me with my two best friends + family + we celebrated the rest of the night.”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“I really didn't have a specific theme in mind. I knew I wanted lots of greenery + grey bridesmaid dresses + navy groomsmen suits. I ended up deciding on bright pink florals + it it ended up being my favorite detail of the wedding.”
Where did you draw your inspiration + ideas from?
“Pinterest, duh!”
Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Fountain!
Wishing you love + laughter + the sweetest forever.
