REAL BRIDE: Molly
Molly + Jack

What do you get when you combine sleek bridal fashion and Molly’s love of color? A show stopping summer wedding day, that’s what!
After settling on celebrating their wedding day at The Guild, the impact of the global pandemic, COVID-19, forced Molly + Jack to modify their original plans. Their ceremony was an intimate celebration of love, held at their original dream venue. After the two tied the knot, they hosted dinner at Lidia’s and finished the evening with a small reception at On Broadway Rooftop complete with lots of dancing and stunning views of our very favorite city.

Tell us about the proposal!
“Jack said he had a golf tournament in St. Louis and I was heading to KC for a girl's weekend. My girlfriends said we were going to The Plaza for drinks and as we were passing the famous Plaza steps, he popped out. He was "supposed" to be in STL so as soon as I saw him, I knew what was happening. I was so shocked and caught off guard that I was frozen still and could not move! After the proposal we went around the corner to Grandfalloon where he had 50 of our closest friends and family waiting for us.”
How did COVID-19 affect your wedding plans?
“Due to COVID-19, unfortunately, we had to change our plans. We got married in an intimate ceremony with just immediate family and our wedding party only. We ended up just moving our original rehearsal dinner at Lidia's to Saturday and had dinner there after the ceremony. After dinner we went to On Broadway Rooftop and danced the night away. We always wanted a big wedding but it was incredibly special just having the most important people in our lives there. We are planning to have a reception next July at The Guild with the original guest list.”
How did you decide to get married on August 22nd?
“I always wanted to get married outside during the fall. You’re probably thinking that August doesn’t sound like an ideal month to get married, but I wanted to get married at The Guild so bad - we just went with a date they had available!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We met in college and would hang out in group settings as friends. We were both dating other people at the time. We didn't get together until after college when two of our best friends thought we would be good together. Timing is everything.”
What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?
“Always go with your gut! I had found a dress on Instagram that I loved - at least a year before we were engaged. I went dress shopping one time and almost bought a dress but I still kept thinking about this dress I found on Instagram. I had sent a photo to my friend and she mentioned it was at Something White and that I should really go try it on. There were lot's of dresses I loved that day and had a hard time deciding, but I am so happy I went with my gut and chose the original dress I fell in love with.”
How did you know your gown was the one?
“It was the perfect combination of everything I wanted. I knew I didn't want an all lace dress. The satin bottom and lace top combination is so me and exactly what I wanted. I loved that we were able to customize it further and add buttons down the back. It was perfect.”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“Definitely seeing Jack for the first time down the aisle. I have never seen him cry and we've been together for almost 4 years! In that moment, when he had tears in his eyes , I really knew how much he loved me.”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“I wanted a fun summer themed wedding so I liked the idea of incorporating fruit into the tablescapes. I knew I didn't want a neutral wedding. I wanted my love of color to shine while still keeping a classic color palette.”
Where did you draw your inspiration + ideas from?
“I found a wedding on Pinterest that I loved and was a great mix of traditional and fun.”
Congratulations Molly + Jack!
Wishing you all the love in the world! <3
