Join us in congratulating Mr. + Mrs. Peters in the comments section down below + head over to our Instagram @somethingwhitebridalboutique for even more behind the scenes on this stunning winter wedding!
How did you know your gown was the one?
“Honestly, because of the reaction I got from everyone that came with me to find a dress. I looked in the mirror + really liked it, it fit me the best of all the dresses I tried on + I felt the most comfortable in it + could see myself wearing it all evening without ever feeling like it wasn’t “me”, but then when I looked up + was about to ask for everyone’s opinion, half of them were crying + I knew it was “the one”. “
What made you decide to get married on February 29th?
“I always wanted a winter wedding + our venue had several days open in January + February, but February 29th was unique since it’s only every four years. We love to travel, so we decided that every four years we would just plan a big trip to go on to celebrate in a big way.”
How did the two of you meet?
“We actually went to high school together, so we have known each other for 10 years!”
Tell us about the proposal!
“We were in Cabo on vacation + Nathan planned a dinner on the beach. He proposed before we even ordered dinner, thank goodness - he was so nervous, it was like we were back on our first date.”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“The moment right before I walked down the aisle. We had done a first look, since the sun was setting somewhat early on our day, so I had already seen Nathan, but I was not prepared for all of the emotion I felt right before they opened the tent + I heard the song playing that I was walking down the aisle to. Everything that we had planned for all came down to that moment + it finally felt real, I had been in my dress with hair + makeup done for four hours, but I finally felt like I was a bride + was about to marry the man of my dreams.”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“The only thing I really wanted was “simple + timeless” - I’m a less is more type of person, so I just wanted everything to be kind of understated but once it all came together, timeless. I wanted simple greenery + white flowers, nothing that was trendy + would look outdated in a few years.”
Where did you draw your inspiration + ideas from?
“Truthfully, once we found our venue, I stalked their Instagram + saw how other brides had done things + I knew what I wanted in the simple + timeless theme, so I just kind of picked + chose what I liked from that.”
What advice would you give to other brides in regard to dress shopping?
“Go in with an open mind! My mom has always told me that everything looks different when you get it on + it’s so true. I tried on some dresses that I didn’t think would look good on, but that I ended up really liking.”
Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Peters!
Wishing you the sweetest forever!
