REAL BRIDE: Brooke
Tristan + Brooke Bergerhofer
3.23.19
The sweetest of all time is on the blog today! Brooke + Tristan tied the knot at the gorgeous Eighteen Ninety Event Space in Platte City at the end of March + we are obsessed. We were obsessed with Brooke from the day we met her + seeing her wedding photos makes us so stinking excited for her newest adventure as Tristan’s permanent plus one. TBH, a little emotional that Brooke won’t be popping in + out of the shop as much now!
From the invitations, to the ice cream trolly, to the photography + everything about Brookes bridal look - everything screamed classic + simple with a modern touch [ our vibe exactly ].
Join me in congratulating the Bergerhofer’s in their marriage by leaving a comment down below + sharing their feature with your friends + family on social media + keep scrolling to enjoy all the goodness + all the wow factor that was their special day at Eighteen Ninety!
How did the two of you meet?
“We met when I was a junior + Tristan was a senior in high school. We were seated one in front of the other while we were taking the ACT. Tristan asked for my phone number + I said yes + gave it to him out of shock!”
Tell us about the proposal!
“When Tristan proposed, he kept it a complete surprise. He had me dressed to the nines because we were heading to a college formal that evening in downtown Kansas City. He asked me if there was anywhere I’d like to go while we were in town + of course I said the World War I memorial. He knew exactly what I would say, but let me think it was my idea. When we got there, we found a place where no one else was around + he got down on one knee + asked me to marry him. I was so shocked that all I could manage to get out was “Are you serious?!” He slid the ring on my finger + only then did I remember to say “yes.” We reveled in the moment for a little bit + then he took me to his parents house where he had planned a surprise engagement party with our families + some out of town friends. I felt so very loved that day.”
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
“My two absolute favorite moments were our first look, the moment we locked eyes as I walked down the aisle + when we took communion together during our wedding ceremony. We both cried our eyes out during all three of those moments. I didn’t expect Tristan to cry at all that day, so it was especially meaningful to see him wear his emotions on his sleeve.”
How did you know your gown was the one?
“I knew my gown was the one because I just couldn’t bring myself to take it off. I twirled around the store for half an hour in it trying to make up my mind + I finally realized I just couldn’t part with it!”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“I didn’t have any particular theme in mind for our wedding, but I knew I wanted it to be classic + romantic. We wanted it to be classy, but not stuffy. We chose lots of lush greenery and florals, and tons of flickering candles to set a romantic feel for the room. We added a few fun elements with a photo booth + my personal favorite, an ice cream vendor cart custom made for us by Tristan’s dad. Tristan had made me a giant ice cream marquee sign for Christmas several years prior + I knew it had to be displayed at our wedding somehow. So the ice cream cart was born!”
What advice would you give to other brides in regard to dress shopping?
“My advice to other brides looking for their dream dress is to shop around a little bit. I loved the first dress I tried on, but after I tried several more, I realized a lot of what made that one magical to me is the fact that I was seeing myself in a wedding gown for the first time + realizing that I really was getting married. I’m so glad I tried on more dresses because I got to try every shape + style imaginable, I found my perfect dress + I was confident about my decision.”
Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Bergerhofer!
We are B E Y O N D excited to watch you grow together in this newest adventure of life!
