Meet The Team
Something White Bridal Boutique wouldn’t be the same without the amazing SWBB team. If you’ve walked through our shop doors on Walnut Street or called to chat with us about anything wedding related, chances are you’ve worked with one of the killer stylists below. Their hard work + group effort is part of the magic that makes SWBB so enjoyable. They’re the best at pouring champagne, coordinating "I-just-said-yes” boomerangs + making Kansas City babes feel at home… Did I mention they are really great bridal stylists, too?! Because they are.

Hello - me again! If we haven’t already met + you haven’t reached the “About” page on our website, I’m Paige! I love chips + salsa, country music + adding things to my shopping cart online + never checking out. You’ll rarely find me without my pup, Lard or without some sort of beverage in hand [ some sort of weird fear of being thirsty without a drink, I guess ].
I’ve always loved weddings + fashion + I’ve always wanted to own my own business - I’m so glad that dream has come to life with SWBB + if I haven’t already, I can’t wait to share it with you!
Describe your everyday style: Comfortable + minimal with trendy touches! I love neutrals, statement earrings, shoes + handbags!
Favorite bridal trend: OVERSKIRTS! I love the two-look trend + that overskirts allow brides to have one special gown but the option of two-looks. It’s sometimes hard to choose just one silhouette so overskirts allow for more flexibility at a reasonable price point. Bonus points if it has POCKETS!
Favorite gown designer: Them all? Haha! Right now I’m loving our Blue by Enzoani collection + our Lis Simon collection. There’s a good range of styles + shapes within each collection + they are great companies behind the scenes as well - which is important.
Favorite TV show to binge watch: The Bachelor, Married at First Sight, Project Runway, Below Deck, Vanderpump Rules, Keeping Up with The Kardashians, 90 Day Fiance… I could go on but you’re picking up what I’m putting down + this is getting embarrassing…
Tell us about your pets: LARD! Our shop dog, Lard, is my sweet baby. We’ve spent the last 9 years being best friends + I’m going to start crying if I keep going with this… I’ll let Lard introduce himself below!
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: Besides loving the fashion aspect of the bridal industry + traveling to bridal markets to source new product, I’m really proud of the community we are building at Something White. We love to connect with brides before they even come shopping with us + extend that connection even past wedding day. I love chatting with past brides on social media or running into them in real life + seeing their families + lives grow + being able to chat with them about anything because we have a special connection of finding their most special garment together! That’s the best part.
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: Well, obviously I’m a sucker for reality television but outside of that I enjoy spending time with my friends + family + Lard. I love shopping, trying new restaurants, home decor + home renovations + cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks!

Woof, woof! Hi, I’m Lard! Also known as Lardy, LBP, Poochie, Mister, Sir, + really whatever else my humans decide on! I am a 16 pound Shih Tzu. I enjoy short walks around my neighborhood, exploring in my backyard, playing with my squeaky toys, pizza + car rides. I’m always with my mom so if she’s at the boutique, I will be too! You can find me napping behind the front desk or basking in the sun that shines in the front window + flirting with everyone that walks by. I can’t wait to meet you + yes, you can pet me.
Describe your everyday style: On cold days, I wear Eddie Bauer sweaters but usually, you will find me with a cute haircut + a static-y tail.
Favorite bridal trend: Anything soft + fluffy - like me!
Favorite gown designer: Robert Bullock. Robert volunteers at animal shelters + helps rescue animals!
Favorite TV show to binge watch: Whatever reality show my mom has on. When she leaves the house, she usually turns on ESPN for me but I’m more interested in sleeping.
Tell us about your pets: Well…. this is awkward…
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: SO MANY SNUGGLES! I love when people ask to hold me + tell me I’m cute!
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: I love to go on car rides + it’s even better when those car rides lead me to TJ Maxx or Home Depot!
Carly Albert
Lead Bridal Stylist + Buyer
Hi all! It's me, Carly. I've written a few of these already so I feel like we are all already best friends. I've been with Something White for a little over two years now + WOW it's been so amazing. I love taking everybody's ideas to Bridal Market + handpicking each of the gowns to make the perfect collection for SWBB. I moved to Lawrence a couple years ago + will graduate from the University of Kansas in December. I absolutely love traveling + I often spending my Sunday's on the couch with a bunch of snacks, especially chips + queso. One of my favorite ways to spend a weekend is out by the pool with my family playing volleyball, listening to music, laughing + then finishing the night with a good card game. No matter what Buddy [ my dog ] + I are doing, Paige + Lard are often pretty close by + I cannot complain about that.
Describe your everyday style: Comfy + cute with a trendy flair here + there.
Favorite bridal trend: I have been loving all the modern bridal trends. Detachable trains, capes, straps, overskirts + belts have me obsessing right now.
Favorite gown designer: Lis Simon! I love the ease of customizing to make the perfect gown for any bride. They brought a lot of tasteful sparkle into their 2020 collection + I cannot get enough. I also love that we are the exclusive retailer of Lis Simon in Kansas City.
Favorite TV show to binge watch: Survivor! I also [ secretly ] love any sort of reality TV show.
Tell us about your pets: I recently adopted a doggo named Buddy [ however he has started going by "Chief" since we won the Super Bowl ]. I'm not really sure what kind of pup he is but I'd say he's a mix between a Corgi, Collie, Golden, Aussie + a whole lot of sass. I also like to think I own a small small small portion of our shop doggy, Mr. Lard.
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: I love building a special connection with every single bride that walks through our front door. It's so fun to build a relationship with each bride + their family + really see their wedding day vision transform from just a thought in their head to an amazing day.
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: Cheer as loud as I can from the student section + watch the Jayhawks win [ Rock Chalk! ]
Kacey Sumada

I am a Midwest girl born + raised with most of my childhood spent growing up in Kansas City + then St. Louis. Since I was a kid I had a weird interest in all things wedding, particularly the decor + dresses. After high school, I decided to attend The University of Missouri [ MIZ! ] + pursue a career in wedding planning. While in school I fell for the crazy boy that lived next door to me + after graduation found myself moving back to KC with him. A part time job in college had led me down a different career path than wedding planning, but weddings were always in the back of my mind. Ben + I got married in 2017 + the planning process re-sparked my interest + passion for the industry. After welcoming our daughter Josie in 2018, I decided it was time to re-evaluate my career path + here I am! Combining my passions of weddings + fashion has been a dream come true + I am so thankful that when I am not busy being a mom I get to come to a job that I am so passionate about!
Describe your everyday style: I would describe my everyday style as simple + comfortable + I try to add one on trend item.
Favorite bridal trend: I am loving the all over beaded lace we are seeing. I think it is so bold + eye catching to mix a graphic pattern with all over shimmer.
Favorite gown designer: It is a tie for me! Blue by Enzoani + Lis Simon.
Favorite TV show to binge watch: I love reality TV. Below Deck + The Bachelor are on my recording lists right now.
Tell us about your pets: We have Chief, a golden retriever + Sir Charles - aka Charlie, 18 pounds of fluff + feline sassiness.
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: Not only do I love being surrounded by beautiful bridal gowns but I love working with different personalities each day. You get to meet some super amazing women + play a small part in the next chapter of their life. I also love hearing about the new ideas + trends that brides are incorporating into their wedding day!
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: My favorite thing to do outside of SWBB is obviously spending time with my husband, Ben + our 1.5 year old daughter, Josie. Motherhood has been the most amazing journey of my life. I am also a slight shop-a-holic so any day I get to go shopping is a good day to me!
Jessanna Schumann

I come from a small town near Wichita, Kansas. Growing up, my main interests were in sports, traveling + laying low with friends. I got married in May of 2019, moved to KC + started at Something White Bridal a week + a half later! I am only in the boutique on the weekends because I am in Occupational Therapy school during the week.
Describe your everyday style: My passion for sports hasn’t changed - I can be found in athletic clothes most days! Baggy tops are a favorite item of mine.
Favorite bridal trend: The longer I have worked at Something White the more I love clean lines, fun seams + long trains.
Favorite gown designer: I have favorite gowns from several designers but overall I’d pick Rebecca Schoneveld!
Favorite TV show to binge watch: Oh boy… I have lots. But my go-to for years has been Friends.
Tell us about your pets: YES! Ava is a Border Collie + Aussie mix + is always by my side. She is very intelligent + active so we have lots of fun!
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: Getting married recently myself, I love helping brides check off one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning. Our boutique has a strong reputation + I’m proud of all the work that we do on a daily basis.
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: My life is crazy right now with school, so I am truly happiest when at home with my husband + pup just hanging out!

Hey there! I went to Gustavus Adolphus College in MN [ Go Gusties! ] + was teaching theatre at a high school in Minneapolis when I met the cute math teacher around the corner. Three years later I found myself moving to Lawrence, Kansas while my fiancé gets his PhD in math at KU! I love all things puppy-related + spend my free time daydreaming about the day we can adopt one of our own!
Describe your everyday style: Comfy + casual. You can usually find me in jeans + a sweater, unless I'm at home in leggings!
Favorite bridal trend: I love simple + elegant with a bit of sparkle.
Favorite gown designer: Rebecca Schoenveld! Her trendy designs + simple elegance is to die for!
Favorite TV show to binge watch: Friends, Parks + Rec, The Office, Schitt's Creek, Downton Abbey… I could go on + on!
Tell us about your pets: My family has a sweet 17 year old Bichon - she's still alive + kicking albeit deaf + blind!
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: Every bride comes with a different experience + story. I love that I get to play a small part in your love story!
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: I'm either shopping at Target or watching Netflix with the future hubby.

Hi, I am Kaitlin. I grew up in a little tiny town in southern Missouri. I graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Graphic Design + a couple of minors - one of which being Textiles. I love fashion, fabrics + watching for trends. I have an amazing fiancé, Trevor + we have two dogs Bodi + Franklin. Typically we are found watching old lady TV + movies or eating chips + queso.
Describe your everyday style: I would describe my everyday style as fashion-forward meets classic with a splash of vintage. I really enjoy clean lines + simple looks that can be elevated with accessories.
Favorite bridal trend: CLEAN + SIMPLE! I love it! The style shows the beauty of the individual + not just the beauty of the dress. I also love the statement sleeve trend + bows. Both trends are vintage revivals that I am here for.
Favorite gown designer: Rebecca Schoneveld + Robert Bullock.
Favorite TV show to binge watch: Ummm, really just all the binge-y shows. Love them all. I know garbage person right, but I read too so it makes up for it a little.
Tell us about your pets: Yes! As I said above, Bodi, a Bernadoodle + Franklin, a Boxer. They are the best.
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: Besides working with the best women + the beautiful dresses on the racks, the fulfillment I gain from helping someone find a piece of their wedding day is pure happiness. Knowing I helped make someone feel like their best self is what drives me.
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: I love the outdoors + going back home to my family farm to hang out with everyone. I enjoy coffee shops + going to red dirt concerts.

Hi! My name is Carissa! I’m 24 years old + from Springfield, Missouri. I moved to Kansas City in September + started at SWBB shortly after. Random fun facts about me: My favorite color is teal, my favorite food is Cajun Chicken Alfredo + my favorite season is fall!
Describe your everyday style: My everyday style is typically high waisted jeans, comfy shoes + a t-shirt. Recently I’ve had an obsession with knotting my t-shirts off to the side a little bit. Also, who doesn’t love some good quality yoga pants?!
Favorite bridal trend: Favorite bridal trend is definitely lace sleeves. I love that they are coming back + with a modern twist, such as a plunging neckline, or illusion bodice!
Favorite gown designer: My favorite designer is Casablanca.
Favorite TV show to binge watch: Favorite TV show is The Office, but How I Met Your Mother is a very close second. I’m also a sucker for The Bachelor - it’s hard to pick!
Tell us about your pets: I have 3 cats! Munchkin, Atlas + Bub!
Best part of working at Something White Bridal: The best part is knowing that I get to be a part of our brides big day. Knowing that I get to help them find what makes them feel that way, is the best part of working at SWBB - hands down!
Favorite thing to do when not at Something White Bridal: I mostly stay at home with my cats watching reality TV or documentaries. I also enjoy hiking, doing yoga, or trying out new Pinterest recipes with my boyfriend! We also like going to concerts together, usually punk rock, or metal!
