REAL BRIDE: Elle
Elle + Andrew
10.09.20
Fall is one of everyone’s favorite times of the year. From the crisp fall air to the changing leaves of the trees - what’s not to love?! Elle and Andrew knew a fall wedding was for them and they celebrated beautifully at The Legacy at Green Hills. The venue’s lush acreage and open air concept created the perfect backdrop with lots of gorgeous fall trees changing colors.
One thing is for sure, the details of Elle and Andrew’s day cannot be missed and you’ll see what I mean if you keep scrolling. Cheers!
What made you decide to get married on October 9th?
“We have both always loved the month of October and wanted a fall wedding.”
What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?
“Go in with an open mind!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We met at an apartment pool. I had a friend living there and Andrew had a friend of a friend who lived there . Our two groups of friends were the only people at the pool and we started a game of pool volleyball. By the end of the day his friend asked for my number for him because Andrew was too shy to do so. The rest was history.”
Where did you draw your inspirations + ideas from?
“I definitely surfed Pinterest and Instagram a lot to get inspiration as well as bridal magazines.”
Tell us about the proposal!
“I always told Andrew that I didn't want a grandiose proposal. I wanted it to be a normal day, doing what we love to do. So he planned this weekend to take me to Q39 for dinner (which I had never been to at the time) and to go to the dog park the next morning and hang out. Well I botched his plans as soon as one of my friends mentioned karaoke. We had indulged in a bit too much fun and weren't feeling the greatest the next day. Andrew pushed through though, made me breakfast in bed and we made it to the dog park. He had written a note and somehow got it on the windshield without me knowing. When we got back to the car, I read the note (after I thought someone was stalking us) and quickly realized what was taking place - I turned around there was Andrew down on one knee. After saying "is this real life?" a handful of times I quickly said yes! My mom, one of my sisters and one of my nieces were there hiding the entire time. They had champagne, flowers, and poptarts with a sign that said "He popped the question!" to celebrate! Needless to say, it turned out perfectly - and I wouldn't change one thing (maybe 2-3 beers less).”
How did you know your gown was the one?
“My gown was nothing at all like the style I went in looking for. After trying many long-sleeved, open back dresses (like what I was envisioning) and not loving them, my stylist suggested a dress. It was so different from what I wanted, but because it was still so beautiful I agreed to try it on. As soon as I saw my group's reaction when they saw me and how comfortable I was in it, I knew it was the one. It was the perfect mix of classic, elegant, unique, and I still got the open back I wanted! Also the pockets were a huge plus!”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“I have always loved greenery and simplicity, so I knew I wanted to incorporate lots of green into the flowers and decor. Other than that - I didn't have much of a vision at the beginning. I knew I wanted the reception to be outside though!”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“One of my favorite moments from our wedding day was the dancing - it was the fun and happiness that I always envisioned. Andrew's favorite moment was seeing me for the first time walking down the aisle.”
Congratulations, lovers!
Wishing you so much love + light!
