How did you decide on September 7th?
“Johnny + I wanted a short engagement! September was about five months away from when we got engaged, so that seemed like a great timeline! We chose Labor Day because we have a big family + a lot of people would be coming in from out of town! By choosing Monday, most of our family had the day off work already + we would get to spend the full weekend with them!”
How did you know your gown was the one?
“Easy! I knew nothing else would beat it!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We originally met at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Johnny went on a few dates with my roommate + we met in passing. We reconnected on social media a handful of years later! After our first date, there was no question - we both knew we had found our person!”
Tell us about the proposal!
“Oh my! Johnny planned the most incredible proposal! He told me we were going fishing with my family in Paola. On the way down there my sister asked if we would stop by her house + grab my niece’s fishing poles. Once we opened the doors to the barn, a breathtaking dressing room was awaiting me! With new outfits, a curling iron, a beautiful vanity equipped with makeup + jewelry. I was dressed in fishing clothes! This is where he told me he was taking me on a date. We then drove to the back part of my brothers farm. The gator we took back there was covered in rose petals + lights. We pulled up on a retro blue truck [ which I had taken senior pictures with way back when! ] there were pillows + blankets in the bed of the truck and a massive screen had been set up for a drive in movie night! I continued to look around + saw an old popcorn maker to top off a perfect movie night [ so I think. ] It was too bright to start the movie so Johnny took me over by this tree where more hanging lights + blankets were. This is where he dropped to one knee + asked me to spend forever with him! I of course said yes! We popped champagne + I looked up to see our good friend who is a photographer there to take pictures! After a few shots Johnny suggested we FaceTime family to share the good news . When Johnny called them, he told them to come out + they had been hiding in the barn the whole time! I was overjoyed + started crying. My family is so important so it meant the world that he incorporated them. We celebrated with homemade ice-cream, popcorn + movies!”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“We wanted to stick with earthy tones + a lot of greenery + candles!”
Where did you draw your inspiration + ideas from?
“Mostly Pinterest! I loved researching unique ideas + then putting a spin on them!”
Congratulations Johnny + Tamron!
Wishing you the sweetest start to your forever!
